Thank you for your interest in SJRA.
SJRA has recently added a high school age division. We appreciate your patience while we update our site and our forms to include this new division. The division in which a contestant competes will be determined by that contestant's age as of September 1st, of the current rodeo season. SJRA Junior (ages 5-11) and Senior Divisions (ages 12-14) Junior and Senior divisions will compete in the following events: Tie Down Calf Roping, Pole Bending, Goat Tying, Ribbon Roping, Breakaway Roping, Team Roping, Chute Dogg'n, Barrel Racing. All events are open to boys and girls in the Junior division Boys in the Senior division will not be eligible to compete in Barrel Racing and Pole Bending events. Girls in the Senior division will not be eligible to compete in the Tie-Down Calf Roping and Chute Dogg'n events. Event fees are $20 per contestant per event plus a $10 processing fee per family per rodeo. High School Division (Grades 9-12) SJRA follows a NO PASS / NO PLAY policy. Members must maintain a 2.0 grade point average to be eligible to compete. All members, new and returning, are required to submit a copy of your most recent report card and schedule with your application. You will also be required to submit the most current report card on or before the November and April rodeos. This is required, whether public, private or home schooled. All contestants are required to call in or out (whichever is specified) on the designated date and time. Once a contestant has entered an event, they will remain called in until they call out for that event. Failure to call out for an event (or rodeo) will result in entry fees being charged for the missed events and the contestant status to be changed to called out. If you are in call out status, you must call in to re-enter the rodeo. You may change your events at any time during the rodeo season, providing you call in/out at the designated times. SJRA's designated call in/out time is the Monday before the rodeo from 6pm - 9pm. Please check back IMPORTANT FORMS / MEMBERSHIP CHECK-LIST Be sure you have all your paperwork completed:
SJRA RULE BOOK While SJRA follows many of the rules set out by the High School Rodeo Association, there are some variations. Therefore, it is important that each contestant and their families understand the rules. Should you have any questions, please see event or arena directors. |
