Welcome to the Rodeo  
SJRA is a youth rodeo association for children ages five (5) to nineteen (19). Our organization is divided into 3 divisions: Juniors (ages 5-11), Seniors (ages 12-14) and High School (ages 14 - 19). All ages are determined as of contestant age on September 1st of that rodeo season. Any contestants who are 14 and in high school must compete with the high school division. Contestants compete from September thru April to qualify for the rodeo finals where they have a chance to earn over $80,000 in prizes and awards. SJRA draws contestants from Florida and Georgia. It is a family oriented association allowing young adults the opportunity to compete in rodeo events while developing good sportsmanship and character. Our students have the opportunity to meet and fellowship with others their age that have the same interest in the sport of rodeo all while in a controlled and disciplined environment. By competing in SJRA students are more prepared for the next level of rodeo.

Junior and Senior Division competes on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning in the following events: Tie Down Calf Roping, Pole Bending, Barrel Racing, Team Roping, Breakaway Calf Roping, Goat Tying, Chute Doggin and Ribbon Roping. Top 15 point winners will be invited to finals in May..

High School Division competes on Friday night and Saturday morning in the following events: Tie Down Roping, Steer Wrestling, Team Roping, Pole Bending, Goat Tying, Barrel Racing, and Breakaway Roping. High School Top 15 point winners in each division will be invited to Finals in May to compete for a place on the SJRA Shawnee, OK Team. Top 3 contestants in each event will receive prize money.

GENERAL MEMBERSHIP - there will be a general membership meeting at the first rodeo and the January rodeo. More information to follow....

HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT DIRECTORS - will be elected at the first rodeo.


As you prepare for the first rodeo of the season...just a few reminders....

  • All members must call in to the first rodeo - call in is Sept 8th (see membership tab for details)
  • GA people remember you need a health cert and coggins to enter Fla. Fla people remember you should always have a valid coggins when you travel.
  • Concessions available
  • Restrooms and showers available
  • There is a large dumpster behind the concession stand...please be sure to place all your trash in this dumpster.
  • NO Hook-ups
  • NO Stalls
  • Parking is available in the front and the back pastures
  • Bring all your membership documents (birth certificates and grade level authorization plus membership application and report card if you did not file electronically).
  • Bring membership fees and event fees - these need to be two separate payments and not one.
